Work on the Allison Jr. Farmhouse dollhouse is progressing quickly. I thought that my break from working on the inside of the dollhouse would last longer as I needed to complete the porch floors, fix some shingles and patch up a hole I made back when I was wiring the kitchen at the start of this project. However, it didn’t take long, and I found myself again on the third floor wondering what on earth this space would look like when I was done.

It was a bit difficult as I was not sure how I would actually create the walls for the room and quite frankly, I haven’t figured that out yet. So instead my first step was to determine the general spacing and where all of the furniture pieces in this master bedroom and bathroom would be located. I taped out where the walls would be placed (if I could create them) and determined how much room was available around the tub, toilet, etc. I also finalized the placement of the door to the bathroom since I wanted to place a pretty dresser next to it on the bedroom side.

As with all the other rooms in this dollhouse, I had a general idea of what the place would need and what it might look like, but specifics like the color scheme and decorative furnishing still eluded me. But then I came across this beautiful picture on Instagram of Jenna Sue’s bathroom in her Modern Farmhouse. I knew right away that this design had all of the farmhouse vibes I love and that they would look amazing in mini.

The warm colors and the combination of natural wood with the patterned floor tiles were exactly what I wanted to recreate in this tiny space. I knew there needed to be aspects of this room that would have to coincide with the bedroom design since this is where this bathroom is located, but I finally had a plan!

Jenna’s bathroom had wide planks on the walls in a warm beige tone, but I wanted a darker shade, so I picked a beautiful warm shade of green called Jade in Satin for the moldings. Unlike Jenna’s bathroom, however, I am adding planks on three of the walls and this pretty board and batten molding to the wall where the sink and toilet will reside. I think it adds so much interest, and since I will be pairing it with a floral green wallpaper, it will truly stand out. The mosaic floor tiles in this mini-bathroom are in a white and grey pattern and will add even more interest.

I have chosen a white and blue farmhouse sink that fits in with the theme that is found throughout the rest of the house, and have added a soaking tub with black legs and faucet. I also purchased these pretty sconces to light the room and some accessories to pull the space together. Like Jenna’s bathroom, I hope to add lace curtains to the shower and a wooden beam that will hide the curtain rod.

And these doors! Love them!

Unfortunately, unlike the other rooms in this house, the bathroom will have four walls which means I have to figure out a way to easily remove the wall that has the door attached so that it can be viewed from the inside. This wall is primarily the toughest structural issue I am dealing with, but I am so excited to see this space come together that I am getting to work as we speak.

I hope you are all having a wonderful week and stay tuned for more updates!

Wonderful. I love your plans for the bathroom. The wall paneling is a great idea to add interest but maintain a solid colour. And that is the cutest little table you have your chamber pot sitting on. I’m a sucker for a spindle leg on any piece of furniture. ☺️
Thank you very much for your kind comment! I really think the panels will totally change the space.
