“Clutter is nothing more than postponed decisions.”
Barbara Hemphill
Organizing is an essential component when preparing any room for a renovation or a simple refresh. De-cluttering, eliminating broken and worn items, and reorganizing what is left go a long way towards making any room look and feel ready for its transformation. The same goes for when we need to organize our thoughts, our schedules, and our plans.

Starting to organize our lives is daunting, but addressing small projects and specific areas makes the task a lot easier. This past winter, I wanted to organize my entire apartment, and I began by simply sorting out my desk. To help get me started, I corralled all my working pens and pencils into pretty jars and stands and threw out all the old notebooks and agendas that no longer served a purpose. I found hidden paper clips, old erasers, and several boxes of staples that were no longer needed. Once everything was tidy, and I gave the desk a good clean, I found a new home for all the remaining items I would use daily.
My Favorite Planner
Like the pens and pencils on my desk, I find that organizing my thoughts, days, and long-term goals in one place are key, and doing so on paper is even better. For that reason, today, I wanted to share some of my favorite planners and the diaries I use to stay organized and hope that it helps get you started and stay motivated in 2021.
