I am so glad to be back with another mood board Sunday, and this time it is all about color! Sometimes I am fortunate and receive a request for an E-Desing from a client who loves color and has a bit of flexibility with their budget. If the pieces below are above your particular price point, don’t fret! I have included in this post alternatives that can be swapped in to reduce costs and do not lack in style.
The above design is for a dining space that is not particularly large and does not receive a lot of light. Usually, I would go wild with white, but I was asked to create a mood board that included contrasting colors, a bold print, and had a luxurious feel. The star piece in this room is this beautiful dining table from All Modern. The sleek shape, the concrete material, and the hint of gold elevate the space. We paired it with these Wayfair dining chairs in a shade of beige and added this modern bookcase from McGee & Co. to provide contrast and much-needed storage. To add color and dimension, we picked this bright and bold marble peel-and-stick wallpaper so that the clients can enjoy it yet easily remove it when they are ready to transition to a new home.
The Anthropologie sconces that we included will reflect the kind of light that will set the right mood for any great dinner party and are a great contrast to the deep navy artwork also from McGee & Co.. Lastly, we added a large faux fiddle leaf fig tree because they are awesome and never go out of style!
The Splurge
The pieces above are unique, and this is reflected in their price; however, I have included alternatives below that can add the same impact to any dining room while reducing the overall costs. Anyone can recreate a version of this space in their own home at almost any price.
