Last week I introduced you to the Linden Project and the first phase that LPI is tackling during the month of August. (Want to see what we have planned for the entire space? – Visit HERE!) Before I show you the incredible progress that was achieved over the last two weekends, I wanted to share a bit more about the updated floor plan and what we are looking to accomplish in this room. This unique bedroom below was our inspiration.

The bedroom is approximately 11ft by 12ft and has a closet and one large window that overlooks the apartment’s balcony. The room is a bit tricky in that it also has two protruding columns and a small soffit above the window. We took all of these into account when designing the space to allow for more function and a better flow.

The bed was initially placed right in front of the door, which required that you walk around it to open the window and it just made the room feel smaller. We have shifted the bed to the opposite wall and flanked it on either side with large white nightstands that provide additional storage.
Opposite the bed, we used this wall to create a workstation for Jessica Janniere, who is an author, motivational speaker, and super Mom. It will include a sit/stand desk, comfortable (but beautiful) desk chair and shelves where she can display her favorite books, artwork, and extra supplies.
While our aesthetic at LPI leans more traditional with hints of modern touches, our focus is always to create spaces that are impressive and bright. As you may have seen on our Instagram account, not all of our plans worked out in this space. We often like to add unique touches to each room that we transform and for this space, we picked this beautiful and bold Bohemian Peel & Stick wallpaper from RoomMates. At $30.00 per roll, it was an affordable solution that added interest and could be removed in the future. Unfortunately, the textured walls and heat made that impossible so we altered the design plan to accommodate that change. However, if you like the pattern, we have linked it below!

Our work started over the weekend when our awesome crew, came in and removed the bi-fold doors and inner shelves that were in the closet, patched the walls, painted and updated all of the doors in the apartment including their hardware.

The work has just begun, but the change is already dramatic. The power of functioning doors, an updated closet, and a bright space make all of the difference.
I want to thank Kenny, Jeff, Eric and Gilmar for their hard work, their attention to detail, and their generous spirit. Remember to follow along on Instagram for the latest updates (#LPILindenProject & #LPIGivesBack).
